Head Start for GP

There is now a shift to more self-directed learning as we strive to nurture the analytical mind of all our pre-University candidates. Needless to say, this is but one of many challenges the JC student has to undertake. Add onto that the often-times daunting school commitments and activities, students find themselves having to prioritize. This is never a good thing when every subject counts in a syllabus so dense and rigorous that it almost feels crafted to leave as many students behind as it seeks to identify those that will excel.
It is with this in mind that we here at SG Learner have formulated a specific series of programmes to aid students in getting a buffered beginning to the next phase of their academic career. General Paper is a subject many struggle with, and much of that is attributed to not having a solid foundation on which to build upon.
The GP Headstart Programme will introduce the essentials and philosophy of the subject that many schools here spend little time focusing on. We aim to build a student’s confidence and ability in the subject right from the beginning- something vital to eventual mastery for the major exams and assessments.

Four Sundays 29 Nov 2021 to 20 Dec 2021

11am to 1230pm via zoom

$300 for 4 sessions.

$30 registration fee for new students.

IMPORTANCE of HEAD START for ECONOMICS

Hi all,

I am Mr Jimmy Teh, currently a tutor for Economics Headstart and Relearning Programme with SG Learner.

I have taught in JC since 2008, before venturing into tuition in 2015.

As a former teacher who was once in a mainstream school, I am aware of the rigour of JC curriculum and how it is designed to promote critical thinkers and self-directed learners. However, there will be times when it will be difficult, especially during the whole preparation for the new term, orientations for the group leaders and even those competing and preparing for their CCA major competitions.

Thus, I feel it will be crucial to have programmes specially catered to these group of students who might find their first term of school to be exceedingly overwhelming and would prefer to have some fundaments covered.

These courses are planned with a unique set of notes for easy learning and come with its own diagnostics to help you to identify the root cause of your issues, be it inadequacies in the understanding of content, unable to tackle the question fully or not using the right words for the answers.

Work done will also be fully assessed, with sufficient rigour and exposure in these programmes.

So feel free to join me in our programs at Bukit Batok!

Contact 6569 4897 or whatsapp 9385 5341 for more details.

JC1 H2 ECONOMICS RELEARNING PROGRAM

Dear Students, if you had done poorly in your J1H2 Economics Promotional exam, this is the course you would definitely want to attend in your holidays in order to catch up in your H2 Economics.

Our Re-Learning courses are planned and solely taught by MOE trained teachers with experience teaching in JC and running their own tuition centres, with their own unique set of notes, lecture materials, and coursework.

Each course comes with its own diagnostics to help you to identify the root cause of your issues, be it inadequacies in content, unable to tackle the question fully or always not using the right words for the answers. Your work will also be fully assessed, and a full review will be done with you by the end of the class.

Students will also be exposed to 2 to 3 case studies and several essays across various topics with quality and assessed answers written by students. We believe it is more authentic rather than the school’s suggested answers since it was all done under timed conditions. There will be lectures to cover the entire J1 syllabus, followed by assessing the fundamental concepts to ensure that you are able to tackle tougher questions, and some key pointers to help you ace those papers.

Sign up for our J1H2 Economics ReLearning now and improve your grades!
