THE TUTORS:
Mr Pang:
Mr. Pang graduated with a B.Eng(Honors) from NUS, and has been coaching students in PSLE, O-level/IP and A-level Mathematics and Science for more than 5 years. An alumnus of RVHS, Mr. Pang is a results-oriented tutor whose students do very well in exams through efficient learning methods and exam preparation skills.
Mr Teng:
Mr. Teng (or some students call KS) has been teaching H2/H1 Mathematics for the past 10 years. Having taught students from various Junior Colleges, KS adapts to students’ abilities and help them better understand the topics. As someone who loves to teach mathematics and who sees it as a truly useful tool in life, KS seeks to enable students to appreciate math. Therefore, his tuition mission is to motivate and cultivate students to be independent and confident thinkers. He seeks to improve himself constantly by retaking and scoring As in the H2 Math exam every 2 years. An NUS math graduate, Mr Teng also has a Master degree in Math from the NTU.
Mr Ilyasa:
An NIE-trained ex-school teacher, Mr Ilyasa has been coaching students in A–Level & IB Physics and Mathematics for more than 7 years, as well as O-Level & IP Physics, Chemistry, A.Math, E. Math and PSLE Math for more than 10 years. An alumnus of RI and RJC, Mr Ilyasa holds a Master of Education (Curriculum & Teaching) degree from the National Institute of Education, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree from the National University of Singapore.

(1) As places are limited, pre-payment is necessary to confirm your attendance. You can make cash or cheque payment by visiting the centre at the address above. If student attendance for a session is not confirmed, the centre reserves the right to cancel that session.
(2) If only one student signs up for a particular session, that session is considered a 1-1 session and the student will be asked whether he or she wants that session to be conducted at a fee of $120.
(3) The centre reserves the right to cancel any session due to unforeseen circumstances. If payment has been made for a cancelled session, the student (s) will be refunded in full.
(4) If a student withdraws from a session, a full refund can only be given if the centre is notified of the withdrawal not less than 5 days from the date of the session. No refund will be given if no notification of withdrawal is given or the notification is given on or just one day before the date of the session.

Surprise visit by parents of my ex-CJC student …
I was tutoring yesterday when I caught a glimpse of a little girl standing at my door, with a familiar-looking elderly man beside her. Looking at my bewildered face he quickly introduced himself as the father of a CJC student he sent to me in 2007, for H1 Math. His daughter, that student, has just graduated from NUS and the little girl beside him now is the child of his eldest daughter.
The purpose of their visit was to ask whether I have a P2 math tuition class for the little girl, who is in RGPS. Unfortunately, my lowest level tuition class is P3, so she has to come back at end of 2014 for my P3 headstart class instead. I told the man to let his granddaughter play more in P2 as opposed to studying, but he said the environment in RGPS is very competitive. Fortunately, her grandmother, who was there, agreed with me.
Personally, I don’t think P1 and P2 tuition is necessary, UNLESS the student has not attended pre-school and cannot cope with P1 and P2 English and Math.
Finally, I’m happy to know that my past students are doing well in life, and many have entered universities, although they didn’t come from ‘top’ schools. At PSLE, it is about how intelligent you are. But at the ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels, it is about how much you know.
