- AS Level (Paper 3 – Advanced Practical Skills): It is a hands-on, 2-hour practical exam worth about 23% of the AS Level grade, typically consisting of two questions testing manipulative, observational, and graphical skills, for a total of 40 marks.
- A Level (Paper 5 – Planning, Analysis, and Evaluation): It is a theory-based 1-hour-15-minute written paper assessing experimental design, data analysis, error handling, and graphical conclusions with no hands-on component.
- Private Candidates: To obtain A-Level qualification for the sciences, it is compulsory for candidates to complete both Paper 3 and Paper 5; there is no “alternative to practical” option available for AS/A Level syllabuses. Private candidates may obtain their practical training in a registered Cambridge center with laboratory facilities or specialized preparation centers such as Singapore Learner.
Note:
(1) If you are self-studying or you enrol in a private school WITHOUT laboratory facilities, you may obtain your complete CIE science practical training via Singapore Learner. But please check with your school about the venue for your science practical exams.
(2) If your private school is a registered Cambridge center, it may also conduct the actual CIE science practical exams at Singapore Learner by making prior-arrangements with Singapore Learner.
Students in government or international schools or full private schools generally complete between 16 to 20 experiments in two years before doing their actual practical exams. Thus we offer private candidates between 8 to 10 lab sessions (covering 16 to 20 experiments respectively; 1 lab session has two experiments) per subject in our standard science practical course.
In order to complete at least 8 lab sessions, it is recommended that you commence practical training with us in the NOV-JAN period to have enough time to complete at least 8 lab sessions before your exams.

HOW TO BOOK A LAB SESSION:
(1) Decide which Program or Lab sessions you need or most suitable for, by visiting the webpages of the practical subjects you are interested in.
(2) Whatsapp or Message our staff at 88765498 with your Name, Private or School Candidate, A or O level, Subject or Lab Name (e.g Lab PP2), Date and Time of Lab. (Our staff will then guide you on how to register and make payment. If you are not sure about the lab sessions, just state your Name and the Subjects and we will get back to you)
(3) Register Online by clicking below:
(4) Pay Registration fee of $50 via Paynow or funds transfer.
(5) Make the required payment for each lab session at least 7 days before the date of the lab session. (You may also pay for several sessions at one go to ensure that you will have a place in future slots)
