JC 1 / A LEVEL H1 / H2 MATH GRAPHING INTENSIVE RELEARNING & REVISION JUNE 2018
Many JC students lack confidence in graphing/sketching questions. They waste
more than 15 minutes sketching a curve and might still get it wrong. Some students do not understand the order of transformation and scaling.
This course will allow you to master graphing techniques and sketching, and effectively score full marks for this segment in your promotional exams or A-levels. There will be a strong focus on transformation and scaling equations, and graphs such as the negative, modulo and reciprocal graph.
By the end of this class, you will learn how to:
-Spot common graphing trends and problems
-Understand the significance of restricting domain and range in graphing
-Effectively utilize your graphic calculator to sketch complex graphs
-Confidently and correctly sketch difficult graphs such as reciprocal, modulo and y-squared graphs in under 10minutes
-Systematically perform transformation of graphs without error
Duration: 3 weeks, 2h each
Dates: Every Wednesday 6 June. 13 June and 20 June
Time: 1030 am – 1230 pm
Location: Blk 644, Bukit Batok Central, #01-68. S(650644).
Format: Teaching + Worksheets + Discussions
Target Group: JC students who will be taking the A level Examination in Mathematics.
Our worksheets are selected based on past year questions from a variety of JCs, and common past year questions from the A-levels. During lessons, we provide tips on trends observed in different schools. Graph paper will be provided.
Note:- Discounted fee for signing up together with another student. Do let us know.

SEC 3 / O LEVEL MATH GRAPHING INTENSIVE RELEARNING & REVISION JUNE 2018
Many Sec3 or Sec4 students lack confidence in graphing/sketching questions. They waste
more than 15 minutes sketching a curve and might still get it wrong. Some students struggle to understand the purpose of such graphs and their applications, finding themselves unable to attempt most of the application questions for graphing.
This course will allow you to master graphing techniques and sketching, and effectively score full marks in this segment in your promotional exams or O-levels. There will be a focus on applications of linear graphs, sketching of quadratic graph (roots of equation, intercepts, min and max points), as well as tangent and normal to the curve.
By the end of this class, the student will learn how to:
-Apply the concept of gradients to solve problems
-Identify common graphing trends, shapes and problems
-Understand the significance of coordinate geometry and linear/quadratic graphs by relating it to
a linear/quadratic equation
-Effectively find variables such as the X and Y intercepts, asymptotes, maximum and minimum
points, as well as tangent to the curve
-Confidently and correctly sketch complex graphs in under 10minutes without supervision
-Use graphing to resolve problems such as simultaneous equations or log scale
-Systematically perform transformation of graphs without error
Our worksheets are selected based on past year questions from a variety of secondary
schools and standard O-level questions. During lessons, we provide tips or question
spotting based on trends observed in different schools.
