Ad Hoc 1-1 Consultation (for the busiest of students)
Under this scheme, students do not need to register with our centre. If a student needs clarification on a particular topic in E.Math, A.Math, Physics or Chemistry, or needs help solving some questions in these subjects, he can just message the tutor (hp: 97860411, NUS grad, NIE-trained, Ex-RI) to book a 1-hr slot. Fee is $90 per hour and must be paid in advance to confirm the slot (no refund for a no-show whatever the reason). Lessons can be physical in-centre or online via zoom. Fee for home tuition (west area) is $180 per hour.

Yay, last year’s O-level intensive revision for E Math DID have an impact
I thought of not conducting the above this year as the same course last year attracted only 3 students. It was a four day, 3 hr course conducted in early October. Maybe the timing was not right, or something like that. However I did my best, explaining ALL the important E Math concepts in 12 hours, clearly and concisely. I conducted the course because I reckoned that there WOULD be S4 or S5 students who needed a crash course in E Math, which is a VERY IMPORTANT subject as a fail in it would mean you will be NOT be accepted into most post-O-level courses.
However, last night I received a call from a parent whose son was one of the three above (she was looking for math tuition for her younger son). She said the course benefitted her elder son greatly such that he was able to obtain a B3, despite doing very badly in the subject at school. Thus I’m now more motivated to re-launch the course later this year. Hope it will benefit some students again.

Mid-year (SA1) results important for DSA to JC or Poly
I think many students are not aware of this. If you are good in sports and intend to apply to a JC or Poly via DSA in June, they will look at your mid-year exam results. Thus you should aim to at least pass all your O-level subjects with a B4/B3 average at the least, else the JC or Poly would tell you to re-apply again with your prelim results instead.
The problem is, the S4 mid-year exam is always the hardest exam to do well in due to the following reasons:
(1) Teachers would have just finished teaching some topics and then the exam comes;
(2) There is little or no revision time for older topics;
(3) It tests the S3 topics as well and in the case of Math it tests all the topics from S1;
(4) Exam-setters typically make it very hard in order to “wake-up” the students.
Thus S4 students often fail most of their subjects for SA1. The results don’t matter much if you are NOT applying to JCs or Polys via DSA in June. But even if you don’t intend to use DSA, poor results at SA1 doesn’t bode well for your performance in the prelims, which in turn will not give you the confidence you need to face the O-levels.
THUS DOING WELL AT SA1 IS STILL IMPORTANT NO MATTER HOW BUSY YOU ARE. PLEASE PRIORITIZE YOUR TIME CORRECTLY AND AIM TO DO WELL IN ALL EXAMS.
