THE INTENDED OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE:
The four session crash course is focused on helping students who have lacked the confidence or the appropriate skills to meet the challenging, academic demands of the subject. The aims of the course are as follows:
i) To set high expectations and to ensure all students are engaged in varied, customised activities to master the relevant skills;
ii) To establish positive routines that will enable students to work with vigour and rigour, thus adding consistency, and at the same time, a joy for learning in their learning pursuits;
iii) To reinforce the importance of the desired qualities for success such as being motivated, passionate, accountable, resilient and goal-driven.
iv) To provide creative ways to sustain students’ interest in learning, and to boost their confidence to make continuous improvement.
THE CORE ASPECTS OF THE COURSE
The course covers the following aspects which are generally in close alignment with MOE curriculum guidelines and assessment modes. Students will sit for a diagnostic assessment to look at the areas where help is needed. In addition to covering the core components such as essay writing skills, comprehension and summary writing skills, as well as oral skills, there will be opportunities for students to grasp the importance of reading. Students who are able to read widely and explore various themes, exposed to a wide choice of relevant and useful vocabulary, and to reflect and express their views on various issues. Excerpts from newspapers articles, magazines and brochures will be used often to sharpen skills in editing and visual texts. Sample assessment papers will also be provided to gauge the students’ mastery of the required skills. Overall, students will benefit from the authentic learning tasks and the engaging pedagogical methods of learning.

SEC 3 – 4 Homeschooling Support Programme
This page is for students who will be doing our 2-year Science Practical Programme, from Sec 3 to Sec 4, typically for homeschoolers or students who have left secondary school at Sec 2.
Practical Schedule:
Every Monday and Tuesday (except public hols), 10 am-12 pm. One subject per week. Physics, Chemistry and Biology will be done in 3 consecutive Tuesdays and the cycle repeats. First lesson (Physics) starts on 1o Jan 2022. REGISTER NOW.
